Stephen Foster State Park, Suwannee River Trail Maintenance_Nov. 2019
Join the Sandhill Chapter as they maintain the Stephen Foster State Park. Enjoy the beautiful Suwannee River in one of the most historic and scenic locations on the Florida Trail. This is the first Volunteer Work Party of the season, and there is no better place to enjoy the beginning of autumn with good friends and great meals along the black tannin-stained river. Our crew will camp at Stephen Foster State Park in White Springs. We will use a combination of power equipment and hand tools to bring the trail back up to standard. Work will start from the town of White Springs and head west as far as time allows during the project. Plan to arrive November 1st no earlier than 4pm and enjoy dinner with the crew. Work begins November 2nd and ends November 7th in the afternoon. There will be no dinner on the evening of the 7th. Hiking boots (description below) and long pants are required. Long-sleeve t-shirts are recommended. This event is a free volunteer opportunity. Join our crew and have fun! More information on volunteering at this work party HERE.
