Sometimes it can feel like Mother Nature is out to get us, but is she really? Join the Florida Museum and University of Florida Thompson Earth Systems Institute at First Magnitude Brewing Co. for an engaging conversation about wildfires with experts in the field as part of the series “Is Florida Trying to Kill Me?” Topic: Wildfires Speakers: Ludie Bond, wildfire mitigation specialist and public information officer for the Florida Forest Service Zach Prusak, fire manager for the Nature Conservancy in Florida Schedule: 6:30 p.m. – Event starts! Grab a bite, brew and mingle with faculty/staff from the Florida Museum and the UF Thompson Earth Systems Institute. 7-8 p.m. – Audience discussion. 8-8:30 p.m. – Meet representatives from local organizations including the Alachua County Conservation Lands Department The event activities and discussion are FREE.
