Dunns Creek Fall Camping and Trail Riding Weekend
Florida Trail Blazers are coming to town! Primitive camping sites for RVs, equestrian rigs and tents will be available Thursday through Saturday night with or without horses and whether or not you are a member of Florida Trail Blazers. Parking sites will also be available for day riders who wish to participate in the event. Water for horses only. Potable water and electricity are not available. Generators are allowed. A group campfire will be provided. Dogs are welcome, but must be leashed and well mannered. Riders must show a negative Coggins for each horse and sign a liability waiver at the registration desk. Children 16 and under must wear helmets. Riders may use any of the four blazed trails or join in a special, guided ride to the outer reaches of the park. Non riders are free to kayak, cycle or hike on their own. To assure camping space is available, tickets for all camping must be purchased in advance. Advance tickets waive the park entrance fee. Click on the "Find Tickets" text above to purchase. Equestrian tickets cover the $15 camping site/park entrance fee and $2 trail fee for one horse. Trail fees for any additional horses will be collected at registration desk. Day riders may purchase a ticket or pay at registration desk. Equestrians will be camping and parking in a multi use area adjacent to beautiful Dunns Creek. Please be considerate of future park visitors and scatter all manure piles and pick up unused hay before departing.Members of Florida Trail Blazers are having a membership dinner Saturday night. Members will contribute $10/rig at the dinner. Primitive camping is not allowed at the park unless hosted by Friends of Dunns Creek State Park. FODCSP, a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization, hosts these events to raise money for approved, but unfunded, projects at the park, e.g., build equestrian facilities and create and maintain additional trails.
