George Winston
Saturday, February 24, 2018, 4:00 AM
George Winston is known for interpreting pieces on solo piano by his most beloved composers. The inspiration for this happened in 1965 when, at 16, he saw "A Charlie Brown Christmas," featuring Vince Guaraldi's timeless soundtrack. In addition to Guaraldi, other influences on Winston include Professor Longhair, The Doors, Frank Zappa, Randy Newman and Sam Cooke. Outside of his piano compositions and performances, he is also an accomplished blues harmonica and slack-key guitar player. In concert, he'll play selections from his seasonal favorites performed in his melodic folk style, as well as some New Orleans R&B, stride piano, and more.
Cost: $43.50-$48.50
